Civil Engineering is one of the fundamental branches of engineering that deals with the design, construction, and supervision of infrastructure systems such as buildings, roads, bridges, dams, drinking water distribution, wastewater collection, railways, ports, airports, and flood protection structures.

The Civil Engineering Department at Çankaya University was established in the 2011-2012 academic year and graduated its first students in 2015. The language of education is English. Our faculty members are alumni of reputable universities both abroad and in our country. The Civil Engineering program includes six disciplines: structures, hydraulics, geotechnics, transportation, construction materials, and construction management. During their studies, students take courses related to these fields, acquiring fundamental engineering knowledge as well as engineering sciences.

To enhance students skills and abilities in various areas, such as teamwork, creativity, design, success in professional and social life, and lifelong learning, our department, in collaboration with student clubs, organizes social and technical activities such as site visits, sectoral exhibitions, competitions, career days, and conferences. Additionally, our students can enroll in double major or minor programs to obtain a second diploma from other programs at our university and diversify their professional knowledge through international student exchange programs with partner universities in Europe.

Graduates of our department can work in domestic and international firms in areas such as structures, hydraulics, transportation, energy, and construction materials, engaging in fields like design, construction, management, and supervision, or they can establish their own private companies.

The demand for sustainable infrastructure and environmentally friendly projects is rapidly increasing due to the climate crisis we are experiencing. This surge in demand is making the Civil Engineering profession more strategic while diversifying career opportunities for civil engineering graduates. For instance, the design of renewable energy systems and climate-resilient buildings that utilize these systems is expanding the areas of expertise for civil engineers, making their roles even more crucial in this process. The growing need for more civil engineers to develop effective solutions to combat climate change indicates an increase in demand for qualified civil engineers.

We invite all prospective students who wish to work together to meet the need for qualified civil engineers who are knowledgeable about international standards and regulations, proficient in foreign languages, and familiar with advanced technologies to join our department.
